86 New Companies That Hire Military Spouses Inducted Into DOD Hiring Program

Eighty-six new companies were inducted into the Military Spouse Employment Partnership today — a Defense Department program that joins with the civilian sector to employ military spouses worldwide. This brings the total number of MSEP employers to 500.

UMD Senate approves new undergraduate engineering program at last meeting of the semester

The University of Maryland Senate approved several new academic degree programs at its final meeting of the semester Tuesday.

One of the approved programs is a bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, a combination of three types of engineering: mechanical, electrical and information systems. Mechatronics is known as “Industry 4.0” on the job market, said Elizabeth Beise, associate provost for academic planning and programs.
